This Labor Day Weekend, I went with my wife and my mother-in-law to see the sights in Durham. We moved from Salisbury six months ago, but still are getting a feel for Raleigh and Durham.
We headed to the Scrap Exchange, which is an awesome reuse-recycle warehouse Durham. Kelley bought some fabrics for, what seems like, a continual stream of crafts that she’s really good at. I bought some old magazine papers of ad copy that are way better than anything that exists for advertising today.
Next we went to the Bull City Rumble and gawked at motorcycles. I tried to explain why I needed a 1970s Honda CB; no one seemed convinced or impressed, but it did make me want a bike.
I also saw a huge zipper spider making a web outside the window of our home. I was going to kill it with something, but now it’s like a pet. We watch it each day making something, and it’s pretty neat. Georgia doesn’t seem to know it exists despite me pointing it out and showing her photos.
